In Kyllo v. United States the Supreme Court held that using technology not in general public use to learn details inside a home is a search when those details could not otherwise be known without going in. Vantage treats that as an engineering requirement rather than a policy note. No reading is reachable without an authorization record. That record cannot be edited afterwards.
